STAR3001

14b 50Hz sensor ADC

Description

STAR3001 is a third order Delta-Sigma ADC which achieves an SNR of >80dB over a 50Hz bandwidth. Chopping is used to maintain good SNR at DC and hence reduce 1/f noise effects. A 1-bit quantizer allows for a simple architecture which does not require complex feedback DAC linearization techniques.

Features

  • Robust linearity with a 1-bit quantizer

  • Programmable input signal swing (nominally 1.47V differential)

  • Low power: 240μA current consumption

  • Input signal bandwidth (<50Hz for 14b SNDR, can handle up to 400Hz bandwidth with reduced SNDR)

  • SNR > 80dB

  • Chopped opamps to minimize 1/f noise

  • Fully integrated reference buffers (only a band-gap reference is required)

  • Operates off a 25kHz clock

  • Test-bus access to internal key internal nodes

  • Optional digital CIC filter available

  • Optional I2C/SPI digital interface available

  • -40°C to 85°C operating range

  • 0.18um CMOS TSMC Process

  • Designed to operate at 1.8V ±10%

  • Macro area: 605um x 400um
